Congress of Tucumán
After declaring the independence of the "United Provinces of South America," in 1816, 28 out of 32 delegates elected monarchist Juan Martín Pueyrredón as dictator. Since the dawning of the revolution in 1810, the Congress planned to create a constitutional monarchy that would join the United Provinces with Perú.
